Our theme explained…

This year’s orientation theme is “Elementum Victoriana” which essentially translates from Latin to: The Elements of Victoria. Our Orientation Executive Team were inspired by the ancient idea of the 4 elements (fire, water, earth, and air) that combined to encompass all of the world. We thought this idea translated well into a frosh theme as there are many elements at Vic that combine to make our college what it is today.  Without any one of the elements at Vic this place just would not be the same, and what better year to celebrate that then Vic’s 175th anniversary!

What is Orientation week?

Orientation Week takes place in the first week before classes in September. It is a great opportunity to meet your fellow classmates, professors and get accustomed to university life. The week is essential for learning about the ins and outs of Victoria College and the University of Toronto. At Victoria College we strive to provide a welcoming environment and we celebrate diversity. During the week you can take part in many different social and academic events, everything from lunch with your professors to a costumed party on a boat. This website provides a glimpse of what to expect during the week.

All students affiliated with Victoria, in their first year at the University of Toronto, pay an Orientation fee as part of their student fees, so there is no separate cost to you. Online registration forms will be available as of June 16, 2010 – the information you provide is used to create an ID card for events and helps us to create programming for the week.

Please note if you are a commuter student (living off of campus) we have an additional Orientation program taking place on prior to Orientation Week (August 7th and 8th). Check out the commuter page on our site for more information. The Commuter Orientation registration is part of the Orientation week registration form.
